PPI AG has expanded its range by an essential service and now also offers the operation of its applications in addition to software and consulting services for payments. The payments as a service (PaaS) model is the next step towards becoming an all-round service provider in the European payments business. Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) is the first customer to use this new PPI service to transform their payments platform.
PPI AG supplements its consulting and software products divisions with payments as a service solutions. Customers now have the option of having their PPI software products operated directly by the manufacturer in the cloud. Financial institutions can thus have everything covered by one partner, from consulting to software products to the operation of payments – PPI becomes an all-round service provider in payments. PPI AG is supported in this endeavour by Broadridge Financial Solutions as a strategic partner.
The first user of the new service is private owned Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB). In the first stage, cross-border payments went live on the platform – after only 12 months of project duration. In addition, HCOB aims to be able to offer further payments products such as SEPA, including instant payments. The complete range of services provided by PPI AG therefore comes exactly at the right time.
The previous business process outsourcing (BPO) provider has also been replaced in the scope of the project.
Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (HCOB) is a private commercial bank and specialist financier headquartered in Hamburg. HCOB offers its clients a high level of structuring expertise in real estate financing with a focus on Germany and has a strong market position in international shipping. The bank is one of the pioneers in the pan-European market for project financing of renewable energies and is also involved in the expansion of digital infrastructure. HCOB offers individual solutions for international corporate clients and specialty lending as well as a focused corporate business in Germany. Digital products for reliable and timely domestic and international payments as well as other trade finance solutions also support the needs of the bank's customers. HCOB is increasingly aligning its activities with established ESG criteria and has anchored sustainability aspects in its business model.
"The migration of a payment platform is highly complex and an important milestone of HCOB’s transformation. Therefore, we are pleased to have PPI together with Broadridge as strong and experienced partners. We are very satisfied with the initial production phase of international/cross-border payments and look forward to a continued strong cooperation and project execution.”
